Someone's on the tree twice – how do I fix it?

You can merge the two into one: open either card, press Remove / Fix this person and choose the option saying they're in the tree twice. Seeing double happens in the best family trees! For example, say Grandad George is on there once as George and once as Georgie. The merge page puts the two side by side and takes you through it one question at a time. Each detail on the card you started from stays unless you press Use this under the other one, and the name you don't keep goes into Also known as, so it's never lost. A second tab shows everyone the merge affects – partners, parents and children – each turning green once it's settled. Nothing changes until you press Save and merge them, and Stop – nothing changes means exactly that. Changed your mind afterwards? One undo in Recent Activity puts everything back, and the spare record is kept safe for 60 days.
