Is something on a tree your copyright work?
Send a notice to our copyright agent (email support@mywholefamilytree.com with "Copyright" in the subject, or by post to the address below). Please include: your name, postal address, phone number and email; the work you own (or a list if there are several); where it appears — the tree owner's name, the person's card or the picture's reference is fine, since trees aren't public; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't allowed by the owner, their agent or the law; a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the right or may act for its owner; and your signature (typed is fine). We'll remove or hide it promptly and tell the person who added it.
If you think something of yours was removed by mistake,
send us a counter-notice with: your signature; what was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US Federal District Court for your address (or, if you live outside the US, any judicial district where we can be found), and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We'll pass it on, and put the material back 10 to 14 business days later unless they tell us they've gone to court.
Repeat infringers.
We keep a record of upheld copyright notices. A member who keeps adding other people's work will lose their login.
