The Drawer keeps people who aren't joined to the family yet. Picture a big table holding your tree, with little tables of jigsaw scraps around it – the Drawer holds the scraps safe until you find where they fit. You can add someone straight into it with + add an unplaced person, and it also holds deleted people for 60 days in case you want them back.
Where to find it
Drawer (third row of the top bar, far right) → + add an unplaced person
Only people with the "Notebooks" tick.
On a phone: if the menu is tucked away, press ☰ Menu (top left) first.
