Tree file or GEDCOM — what's the difference?

A tree file is our own complete copy of your tree – people, pictures and everything – ready to bring back into My Whole Family Tree. A GEDCOM is family history's common language for moving people between different sites. Use a tree file to keep a full copy, and a GEDCOM to take your people somewhere else.
